How do I apply?
You can apply by following the links under the “how to apply”-banner. The program aims to recruit trainees every fall. New positions will be posted in August/ September. If you have any unanswered question, please send an e-mail to maritimtrainee@menon.no.
Can I apply to more than one position?
Yes, please apply to more than one position if you find it relevant for your background.
Will I receive an offer for a full-time position if I qualify as a successful candidate? Who will hire me – the company or Maritime Trainee?
If selected, you will be offered a full-time position in one of the participating companies. You will be employed by the company who offered you the job.
I have not yet obtained a master’s degree, and I am currently in the middle of my undergraduatestudies. Would it be possible to apply for this program later?
To be accepted in the program a master’s degree or close to completion (enrolled in the final year) is a requirement. All successful candidates have completed their MSc before starting their position.
Do you offer internships?
Unfortunately, we do not offer any internships or equivalent positions. Nevertheless, some of our partner companies do offer part-time jobs, and summer internship. Please read more about partner companies here.
I am not a recent graduate, and I have several years of working experience. Can I apply for the program anyway?
Candidates with up to five years’ work experience after completing a master’s degree are encouraged to apply for the program.
A combination of my studies is quite untraditional, and I am wondering if my background would be relevant for the Maritime Trainee program.
Our partner companies require different backgrounds, competences, and capabilities in the positions they offer. Accordingly, please carefully read the job description of each position, and look if there is a match with your profile.
When can I expect to hear anything back from you?
You can expect to hear back from us when we start the evaluating candidates, after the deadline. If you are an unsuccessful candidate, you will receive feedback when the recruitment period ends.
I do not speak Norwegian; can I still apply for the program?
We encourage international candidates to apply for the program. Remember that you have to fulfill the requirements – a master’s degree and maximum two years of working experience.
